![[vlandia 1.png]] # Rovalt ## 'Rovalatys' - Never Fully [[Imperial]] - Largely [[Nord]] in it's Immigration --- # Backstory & History 'Rovalatys', in the mountains of the Ebor peninsula, was never fully an [[Imperial]] town ([[Calradian-Empire]]). [[Nord]] migrants ([[Nord]]), drawn to the region by rumors of riches to be made prospecting for silver or hunting for furs, long outnumbered Calradians even before the [[Vlandian]] invasion. The Vlandians ([[Kingdom-of-Vlandia]]) too recognized its potential, and despite its harsh winters this land is among the more populous regions of the kingdom, with bountiful fields in the valleys of the mountains feeding the constant flow of settlers from the south drawn here by their hunger for wealth. This settlement is part of [[Kingdom-of-Vlandia]]. Owned by [[Vlandian]] house, [[dey-Valant]]. According to [[Asaios]], [[Viddunthar]], a Nord ([[Nord]]) lives here stationed as one of [[Istiana]]'s many informants. [[Viddunthar]] was a Nord. [[Nord]] are all over these lands. Sometimes they come as sea raiders, other times as traders, and [[Viddunthar]] is a prospector. The mountains around here are rich in silver and other metals (**the mountains are the ridges of the Ebor peninsula** (See 'Deriat' in the [[Vlandian Villages List]])), and every summer after the snowmelt men trek into the streambeds to find promising-looking ores washed down into the valleys. The prospectors sell it to smelters and appraisers in the towns. Silver is usually mixed in with other metals and the value of ores is hard to recognize, and [[Viddunthar]] said the prospectors know they are shamelessly cheated.
