The film is set in the *Mount & Blade* universe, specifically within the *Bannerlord* timeline, starting in the summer of `1084` during the imperial civil war. The idea behind this project is to take the campaign storyline of *Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord* and develop a new concrete and more cinematic narrative. This story will be shaped and re-shaped using all of *Mount & Blade’s* established lore, gathered from various `XML` files from the first *Mount & Blade* released all the way back in `Sept. 16, 2008`, to *Mount & Blade: Warband* in `Mar. 30, 2010`, and as recently as *Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord* in `Oct. 25, 2022`. Furthermore, [Taleworlds Developer Blogs](Blog_1_Hairy_Artists.md) along with certain [DLC](3-Original-Soundtrack-(DLC).md) have also been documented and integrated into the world building of the story. *Brandon Sanderson’s* lectures on storytelling and its structure was also instrumental in this work, [^1] as well as *Blake Snyder’s* popular book *Save the Cat*. [^2] Lastly, what also contributed greatly was real-world history. To name a few recent reads: *Guns Germs and Steal*, [^3] *Powers and Thrones*, [^4] *PAX*, [^5] *A People’s History of the United States* [^6], and more; the list continues to grow… Footnote: *Dan Carlin* is also a fantastic un-official historian who influenced this work.
