> “In video games, game design must come first. It doesn’t matter if a game has awe-inspiring art or wonderful writing if its gameplay is clunky, repetitive or downright boring.”
— Selim Çam

## Info
I believe Selim Çam is right when it comes to video games, which naturally is a different medium than books or film. In these spheres, there are three major layers that make-up a story. Characters, plot, and worldbuilding. The first one; characters, is the foremost component and the most important for storytelling. It doesn’t matter so much to general audiences if the plot is unique and never-done-before or if the worldbuilding is natural and riveting if the characters are as flat as the paper they were developed on. Characters are the heart of the story and what keeps audiences paying attention, they are what also make these other elements; plot and worldbuilding, even more interesting when explained from the perspective of a relatable, and competent character.
